+ WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN I VISIT…
No matter where you are at in life, you are welcome here and we are glad you came to check us out. We are a wheelchair accessible facility, and the Sanctuary (the worship space) is air conditioned. There is plenty of parking in our upper and lower parking lots. Greeters and ushers will welcome you and answer any questions you may have. Be sure to enjoy a cup of coffee and a donut after the worship service.
+ WHAT TO WEAR WHEN I VISIT…
Wear what you feel comfortable in, but try to observe modesty. You will see people dressed in everything from shorts and flip flops to slacks and dress shoes, from T-shirts and baseball caps to suit jackets and ties.
+ WHAT ABOUT KNOWING THE WORSHIP SERVICE?
As you make your way into the Sanctuary (worship space), our ushers will give you a bulletin which has the entire order of service for you to follow along with the rest of the congregation. (Large print bulletins are available upon request.)
+ WHAT IS “SHARING OF THE PEACE”?
We are a congregation that values the forgiveness and lovingkindness of God, and so we make sure that we take the time to share God’s peace with one another every Sunday during worship. This simply involves shaking hands with others nearby and blessing them with the words “The peace of the Lord be with you” or other similar words.
+ WHAT IS HOLY COMMUNION?
During the worship service, the invitation of the Lord Jesus Christ is extended to all people to come to his Altar of grace and peace (also called the Lord’s Table) and receive Holy Communion (also called the Lord’s Supper). The sacred meal of Holy Communion is a powerful means through which God gives us spiritual blessings. It is the true “body and blood” of Christ received mystically in bread and wine for our spiritual well-being. It is a simple meal of bread and wine that reminds us of Jesus’ sacrificial love and that connects/unites us with him and each other in a mystical way that surpasses our limited human understanding. We also provide grape juice for those who do not wish to have wine.
